It was a moment worth repeating and as fun having as games were organized between Volta Regional Hospital , Wroawroa and Jasikan. The three major hospitals which help the public in crippling and managing clients of any type of sickness. Except the disease or sickness is financial. These three hospitals always merge collaborative heads in executing their best mandates to the satisfaction of their clients.
The games were organized on the pretext of strengthening and bridging the gap among the health workers and to bring in familiarity among the workers in the health ecosystem.
Even though it was supposed to be fun games, the stellar performance from the VRH team led by Kingsley, a viable team player in the emergency ward of the VRH, only made the other two competitors a thing of humiliation.
The first match between VRH and Jasikan proved to be a little tougher than predicted. In tough times, the VRH had tough players like Ismaila, an amazing health practitioner in the male ward of the hospital which took care of the tough moments with kicking opponents like a strong antibiotic would do to a stubborn infection.
The first match ended in VRHโs favour in a 2-1 victory. The second match, which was between VRH and Worawora hospital, came with itโs fluidity and display of mastery. The display of football skills from the HR and the auditor of the hospital came as a cultural shock to opponents and even some internal members of team VRH.
With the head of Human Resource department assisting goals and celebrating it with his acrobatic skills and back flips, one could tell he would have won talented kids competition if he had gone for audition when he was a kid.
Amakye chose to leave his Veronica bucket and hand washing skills this time at home and came out of his shell. Proving he wasnโt only a sports enthusiast, he would have been one of Ghanaโs leading players. Even though on his leave, he managed to be in Hohoe the previous night from Accra because he loved things of the VRH. His mission wasnโt fruitless. He cemented it by putting his name on the score list.
The VRH discovered a new germ, Ridwan. Heโs not only a rotation nurse. His rotation in the midfield and the passes gave the final victory over Worawora a huge gap than the one in between his odd – callipers looking legs.
Mr Perry didnโt leave his cheerleading out. Where he couldnโt kick, at least his support on the sideline and always showing white teeth gave the team players a reason to choose and be involved in games outside the hospital, too, once in a while. After all, the health professionals and practitioners’ mental health matter too.
The victory had not only remained on the pitch, it piqued the interest of one of the highest offices. The nurse manager was forced to reveal her secret of being the best goalkeeper in times when Abedi Pele was still Pele. And the best bet yet is on the 6th March for an incoming corporate games, we would all see if the nurse manager could catch a real football when she sees one coming her way or she would catch air instead.
In all, the team thanks supporters and wish to use this opportunity for management to always throw their weights behind these games and activities as they donโt only improve the health practitioners mental health, but adds to his or her holistic being too.
